New Delhi: In an inspiring address at the 57th Convocation of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged graduating students to keep national interest at the core of their professional journeys, reminding them that their actions over the next three decades will directly shape India’s trajectory toward becoming a developed nation (Viksit Bharat).
Highlighting emerging high-growth frontiers—including semiconductors, space technology, and drones—PM Modi emphasized that India’s push for self-reliance across critical sectors will serve as the bedrock of its future prosperity.
Striking a personal note on navigating the modern digital landscape, the Prime Minister advised students against falling into the trap of social media comparisons.
“Life is not a leaderboard, and your journey is not a competition with others, but with yourself,” PM Modi remarked, encouraging graduates to measure success by daily self-improvement rather than salary packages or job designations.
Union Education Minister Pralhad Joshi also addressed the gathering, noting that the administration’s vision has successfully transformed India’s educational landscape into a learner-centric, research-driven, and future-ready ecosystem.
The ceremony was attended by Chairperson of the Board of Governors Harish Salve and IIT Delhi Director Prof. Rangan Banerjee. Marking a major boost to the institute’s research infrastructure, the Prime Minister also officially inaugurated ‘Param Pragya’, a state-of-the-art High-Performance Computing (HPC) facility on campus.
