Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has solved a significant theft case, recovering stolen property valued at approximately ₹17.5 lakh.
In a statement issued here on Friday Police said that the case was registered at Police Station Rainawari as FIR No. 35/2026 under Sections 305 and 331(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) following a theft complaint lodged by one Mohd Amin Changa of Mir Behri, Dal, Rainawari.”
During the investigation, police arrested one Mohd Hussain Latoo, who confessed to executing the crime alongside two juvenile associates. Based on disclosures made during interrogation, officers recovered gold ornaments worth ₹12 lakh, ₹2.2 lakh in cash, three iPhones, and a motorcycle. “Further investigation is underway and additional recoveries are expected”, reads the Police Statement.
