J&K Judicial Academy concludes Induction Training for 39 Civil Judges
Srinagar : The Jammu and Kashmir Judicial Academy, under the patronage of Acting Chief Justice High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, Justice Sanjeev Kumar and the guidance of Justice Rajnesh Oswal, Judge, High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh and Chairman, Governing Committee, J&K Judicial Academy, Friday concluded the academy-based phase of the Pre-Appointment Induction Training Programme for 39 Trainee Civil Judges (Junior Division), Batch-2026.
The induction programme for trainee Civil Judges in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh was attended by Acting Chief Justice Justice Sanjeev Kumar and Registrar General M.K. Sharma and other senior judicial officers of the registry. During the interactive session, the Acting Chief Justice commended the trainees for completing the academy-based phase, emphasizing the importance of integrity, impartiality, and commitment to the rule of law in their future roles. He highlighted the necessity for judges to guard against biases and ensure that their decisions are based solely on constitutional and legal principles. The Acting Chief Justice also addressed contemporary challenges in the justice delivery system, such as inadequate infrastructure and a shortage of judicial officers, urging trainees to maintain high standards of justice despite these obstacles. He encouraged them to embrace technology and pursue continuous learning to adapt to the evolving demands of their roles. M.K. Sharma reinforced the notion of the judicial office as a public trust, urging the trainees to uphold integrity and treat all litigants with dignity while fostering public confidence through fair and competent conduct. Naseer Ahmad Dar, Director of the J&K Judicial Academy, expressed gratitude for the support received and highlighted the foundational skills imparted during the training. He informed the trainees about the upcoming Court Attachment, which would provide practical exposure to judicial processes. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, marking the transition of the trainees to the next phase of their judicial training.
