Srinagar: The political stage in Jammu and Kashmir has turned into a theatrical spectacle that would make soap opera writers envious. As protests erupt over the elusive ghost of Article 370, politicians are tossing allegations faster than snowballs in Gulmarg. Parties are busy playing moral police, expelling members over foul, anti-women slogans, while protesters outside claim they were roughly handled just for asking to resurrect Article 370 and 35A. It seems everyone is eager to catch the spotlight, even if it means tripping over their own rhetoric.
Meanwhile, the Central Government remains steadfast, making it clear that full statehood is on the menu, but Article 370 remains firmly in the bargain bin of history. Critics rightly argue that this endless tug-of-war over dead clauses is nothing more than convenient political exploitation—a masterclass in keeping voters hooked without serving real results. It appears J&K’s political elite would rather fight over nostalgic constitutional ghosts than focus on the future, turning serious governance into a perpetual election circus.
