Dup direct Companies to conduct monthly security reviews, Ensure insurance coverage, strengthen CCTV surveillance
Ramban : Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan and SSP Arun Gupta Friday chaired a Joint Security Review (JSR) meeting to review the security of vital installations, critical infrastructure and vulnerable areas.
The meeting attended by senior officers and representatives from companies operating in the district assessed adherence to prescribed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and the safety, security and welfare measures undertaken for their employees.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Varunjeet Singh Charak, Lead District Manager, General Managers from various companies, representatives from NHPC and other concerned officers.
The Deputy Commissioner sought detailed information from the companies operating in the district regarding total workforce, including local and non-local employees. He also reviewed the safety and security arrangements in place for employees residing and working at various project sites.
Emphasizing the importance of employee safety and welfare, the DC directed all companies to conduct monthly reviews of their security and safety arrangements. He further stated that compliance reports would be monitored regularly at the district level to ensure effective implementation of prescribed safety protocols.
The Deputy Commissioner also instructed all General Managers to ensure that every eligible employee is covered under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), thereby providing financial security to employees and their families in case of unforeseen incidents.
Addressing the meeting, the SSP stressed the need to strengthen security infrastructure at all company establishments. He directed the companies to install adequate CCTV surveillance systems at employees’ residential accommodations as well as work sites.
The SSP further directed the companies to sensitize the employees about the emergency helpline 112 and advised them to immediately contact the emergency service or the concerned Police Station/Police Post in case of any emergency.
They also stressed the importance of collective efforts and close coordination among the district administration, Police and company managements to ensure a safe, secure and conducive working environment for all employees engaged in various projects across the district.
