DC Ganderbal reviews preparations for ‘Har GharTiranga’ Campaign

Kishore directs coordinated implementation across District

Ganderbal :Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, Friday chaired a meeting to review the preparations for the ‘Har GharTiranga’ Campaign, scheduled to be observed from 09 to 17 August 2026, and directed all stakeholder departments to ensure its successful implementation through coordinated efforts and maximum public participation across the district.

At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the action plan prepared by the concerned departments for the smooth conduct of the campaign. Stressing the importance of the national initiative, he emphasized that all departments should work in close coordination to make the campaign a vibrant celebration of patriotism, national unity and pride.

Reviewing the preparations department-wise, the Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned officers to launch an extensive door-to-door awareness campaign to encourage every household to hoist the National Flag during the campaign period.

The Deputy Commissioner directed all Urban Local Bodies, Rural Development Department and other stakeholder departments to organise SwachhtaPakhwada across Panchayats, towns, government institutions and public places as part of the campaign. He stressed that special cleanliness drives should be undertaken to promote cleanliness and civic responsibility alongside the patriotic initiative.

To ensure wider public participation, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned departments to organise cyclothons, mega Tiranga rallies, awareness marches and other patriotic programmes at the district, block and panchayat levels. He further instructed that Shikara rallies and pony rallies be organised to enhance public outreach and strengthen the visibility of the campaign.

The Deputy Commissioner also directed the Information Department to ensure extensive publicity through print, electronic and social media platforms, public address systems, banners, hoardings and other Information, Education and Communication (IEC) activities to generate mass awareness about the campaign.

Emphasizing the role of educational institutions, he instructed the School Education Department, Higher Education Department and other institutions to organise Tiranga exhibitions, essay writing competitions, painting competitions, cultural programmes and other patriotic activities to instill the spirit of nationalism among students and youth.

The Deputy Commissioner directed all Tehsildars, Block Development Officers and other line departments to organise rallies, awareness programmes and public outreach activities within their respective jurisdictions. He also impressed upon the officers to actively involve youth clubs, Self Help Groups, market associations, civil society organisations and members of the general public to ensure enthusiastic participation in the campaign.

He further directed that all activities be conducted in strict compliance with the Flag Code of India, ensuring proper display and handling of the National Flag. He instructed all departments to nominate nodal officers and ensure proper uploading of events on designated portals and social media platfor

Reiterating the significance of the campaign, the Deputy Commissioner called upon all stakeholders to work in close coordination to make the Har GharTiranga Campaign-2026 a grand success and ensure that the spirit of patriotism reaches every household across the district.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Chief Executive Officer, Sonamarg Development Authority, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, SDM Kangan, Assistant Commissioner Development, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DAR), Chief Education Officer, Chief Executive Officer, Municipal Council Ganderbal, all Tehsildars, all Block Development Officers and other concerned officers.
