Shopian : Police on Thursday said that it has seized three tractors involved in the unauthorized extraction and transportation of minerals in Shopian District’s Keegam area.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, police said that a party from Police Post Keegam intercepted three tractors engaged in extracting and transporting minerals without mandatory permission during routine patrolling. A case under FIR No. 150/2026 under relevant provisions of law has been registered at Police Station Shopian, and an investigation has been initiated. In its statement Police reiterated iys commitment to protect district’s natural resources, appealing people therein to report unlawful activities while assuring that the identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential.
