SRINAGAR, AUGUST 07: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday extended his greetings on National Handloom Day, highlighting the rich cultural heritage, creativity and craftsmanship of the country’s weavers and craftspeople.
In a post on X, the LG said the invaluable contribution of weavers and artisans must be acknowledged and appreciated, while stressing the need to preserve the country’s traditional handloom heritage.
“On #NationalHandloomDay, we celebrate the rich cultural heritage, creativity & craftsmanship of our weavers & craftspeople,” Sinha said.
He called for collective efforts to preserve handloom traditions and empower the artisans who continue to keep these age-old crafts alive.
The Lieutenant Governor also emphasised the importance of recognising the contribution of weavers and craftspeople towards preserving the country’s cultural legacy.
