LG Meets Artisans, Tourism Delegation, ALIMCO CMD, BJP Team, Religious Leader

Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday held a series of meetings with representatives from the handicrafts, tourism, social welfare and political sectors, besides a religious leader, at Raj Bhawan.
Artisan Abdul Qayoom Wani called on the Lieutenant Governor and discussed issues concerning the promotion of the traditional chain-stitch handmade embroidery craft. Umar Bhat, Chairman of Musuada Foundation, also met the LG. Chairman of the Tourist Trade Interest Guild Zahoor Ahmed Karnai, accompanied by founder member MohdAkramSiah, called on the Lieutenant Governor to discuss matters related to the tourism sector.
In another meeting, Chairman and Managing Director of the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), Praveen Kumar, briefed the Lieutenant Governor on the corporation’s initiatives to provide assistive devices and rehabilitation services for persons with disabilities and senior citizens. He was accompanied by Deputy General Manager S.K. Tripathi and other officials. A BJP delegation from Uri, led by Raja Waqar, also met the LG and highlighted welfare issues of flood-affected families in Boniyar, while Sant Balak Yogeshwar Dass Maharaj paid a courtesy call on the Lieutenant Governor.
