DC Kathua reviews progress of PWD Works

Rajesh directs timely completion; adherence to quality standards

 

Kathua :Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rajesh Sharma Thursday chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the progress of PWD works being executed under various sectors and schemes across the district.

The meeting was attended by IAS Probationer Nidhi, SE PWD Arit Gupta, Chief Planning Officer Ranjeet Thakur, Chief Medical Officer  Dr Vijay Raina, Chief Education Officer Kewal Krishan and Executive Engineers of PWD (R&B) Divisions Kathua, Hiranagar, Billawar, Basohli and Bani, besides other concerned officers.

The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the progress of works undertaken by different PWD (R&B) Divisions proposed for the financial years 2025-26 and 2026-27 under the District Capex Budget, NABARD, UT Capex Budget, Permanent Restoration Works, Post Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA) works, City and Town Programme, Health UT, Education UT, Samagra Shiksha, DDC/PRI building works etc.

Taking a scheme-wise review, the Deputy Commissioner stressed the need for close monitoring and effective coordination among the executing agencies to ensure timely completion. He directed the concerned officers to remove bottlenecks, adhere to prescribed timelines and maintain quality standards.

The DC also emphasised optimum utilisation of available resources and instructed the executing agencies to regularly monitor the progress of works and ensure that all projects are completed within the stipulated timeframe.
