Srinagar: Several political leaders and delegations on Wednesday called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and projected a range of development and public welfare issues concerning different parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
A delegation led by BJP District President Anantnag Rakesh Koul met the Lieutenant Governor and discussed issues related to the district.
Senior Apni Party leader and Media Advisor Syed Farooq Andrabi also called on the Lieutenant Governor and highlighted various developmental issues concerning Chadoora in Budgam district.
Later, senior PDP leader Ghulam Nabi Bhat Palpori met the Lieutenant Governor and raised several public issues, including strengthening Fire and Emergency Services in Palpora, upgrading facilities at Noorbagh-Baghwanpora Maternity Hospital, improving drinking water supply in various localities, and developing playgrounds at Kreshbal, Sangam Danmar and Palpora.
In a separate meeting, Mohd Iqbal Ahangar, Chairman of the Coordination Committee J&K and Chairman of the South Global Peace Foundation, accompanied by former Municipal Committee Ashmuqam Chairman Sofi Arfat and Advocate Shabir, met the Lieutenant Governor and sought the establishment of a maternity hospital and improved functioning of the dialysis centre at Dooru. The delegation also urged the upgradation of Verinag and Ashmuqam hospitals and raised several welfare issues concerning the Other Backward Classes (OBC) community.
