Srinagar : A comprehensive review meeting-cum-field visit on the implementation of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) and the Jammu & Kashmir Competitiveness Improvement of Agriculture and Allied Sectors Project (JKCIP) was held Wednesday  in Budgam under the chairmanship of Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Budgam, Vivek Agarwal.

The meeting was attended by a Technical Officer from the Agriculture Production Department, Civil Secretariat, who reviewed the physical and financial progress of projects being implemented by Agriculture and allied departments.

The ADDC stressed the importance of timely and effective implementation of HADP and JKCIP through close inter-departmental coordination to enhance farmers’ income and promote sustainable agriculture.

Chief Agriculture Officer, Budgam, Farzana Tabasum, coordinated the programme and presented the district’s progress under HADP and JKCIP. Other line departments also gave presentations on their respective projects.

The Technical Officer reviewed project implementation, fund utilisation, beneficiary selection and monitoring mechanisms, while addressing operational issues raised by officers.

Later, the team visited selected beneficiary units and project sites to assess implementation on the ground and interact with beneficiaries. The visiting team appreciated the district administration and implementing departments for effective coordination and smooth execution of the review.

The meeting concluded with a resolve to expedite pending interventions and ensure timely completion of all milestones under HADP and JKCIP for the benefit of the farming community.
