Over 2,900 Devotees Perform Darshan via Baltal Route
Srinagar: The annual Amarnath Yatra crossed the 4,70,000-pilgrim mark as total visits reached 4,70,929, even as fresh and return convoy movements between Jammu’s Bhagwati Nagar and the Baltal base camp were temporarily suspended as a precautionary security measure, officials said.
Reports said that Pilgrimage activities continued smoothly for stationed devotees, with 2,943 pilgrims paying obeisance at the Holy Cave Shrine via the operational Baltal route on Wednesday. The Yatra, running from July 3 to August 28, continues under regulated movement following the earlier closure of the traditional Pahalgam track for routine maintenance.
