Srinagar :  Member of Legislative Assembly, Javaid Ahmad Mirchal, Tuesday called on Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana and discussed various constituency-specific developmental issues.

During the meeting, MLA projected several demands related to augmentation of drinking water supply, strengthening of irrigation infrastructure, flood protection measures and other public utility works in his constituency. He sought Minister’s intervention for their early resolution to ensure improved public service delivery and accelerated development.

Separately, a delegation of the Contractors’ Association engaged under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) also met the Minister and apprised him of issues concerning the release of pending payments under the Mission. They requested timely release of funds to facilitate clearance of pending payments and ensure smooth execution of drinking water infrastructure works across the Union Territory.

The Minister subsequently held a detailed review with the concerned officers regarding the issues projected by the contractors. He directed the officers to expedite all necessary processes for timely settlement of legitimate claims and ensure that no avoidable delay hampers the implementation of drinking water infrastructure works.

Reiterating the government’s commitment to strengthen the public infrastructure and ensuring efficient implementation of development works across the Union Territory, the Minister assured both the legislator and the delegation that all their genuine issues and demands would be addressed in a time-bound manner.
