Bandopora :  In a vibrant display of sportsmanship and social responsibility, the District Drug De-Addiction Centre (DDAC), Bandipora, in collaboration with the District Administration Bandipora, organized a Friendly Volleyball Match at Kehnusa Ground under the flagship NashaMukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA).

The event was conducted as part of the Community Peer Led Intervention (CPLI) programme to encourage youth participation in constructive and healthy recreational activities.

The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from local youth, who showcased remarkable teamwork, discipline, and sporting spirit. The event aimed to engage young people in positive community activities while spreading awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse and the importance of adopting a healthy and drug-free lifestyle.

Addressing the participants, Jawhar Mir, Outreach Worker, DDAC, highlighted that sports play a vital role in personality development, mental well-being, and prevention of substance abuse. He emphasized that the Community Peer Led Intervention encourages young people to become positive role models and ambassadors of the NashaMukt Bharat Abhiyan, inspiring their peers to stay away from drugs and contribute towards building a healthier society.

The friendly match also served as a platform for interaction between youth and the DDAC team, reinforcing the message that recreation, fitness, and community engagement are effective tools in preventing drug addiction. Participants appreciated the initiative and expressed their commitment to promoting a drug-free culture in their respective communities.

The programme concluded with words of encouragement for all participants, reaffirming the collective resolve of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, District Administration Bandipora and the District Drug De-Addiction Centre Bandipora to continue organizing awareness and youth engagement activities under the NMBA, thereby strengthening the vision of a Drug-Free Bandipora and Drug-Free India.
