MLA Bandipora reviews Development Works, stresses timely Public Service Delivery

Srinagar : Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Bandipora Constituency, Nizamuddin Bhat, on Saturday chaired a departmental review meeting at the Conference Hall, Mini Secretariat Bandipora to assess the progress of developmental works and public welfare initiatives in the constituency.

The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Bandipora, Shabir Ahmad Wani; Programme Officer ICDS Bandipora, Yaar Ali Khan; Chief Planning Officer Bandipora; Chief Education Officer Bandipora; Chief Medical Officer Bandipora; District Social Welfare Officer Bandipora; MS DH Bandipora; Executive Engineers; Tehsildar Bandipora, besides other concerned officers.

The  MLA reviewed the department-wise progress of ICDS, Revenue, Health, Education, Social Welfare, Power Development Department (PDD), Sports Council, Youth Services & Sports, National Health Mission (NHM), AYUSH and other line departments.

The MLA reviewed the status of ongoing development projects, Constituency Development Fund (CDF) works, Tribal sector projects and the CAPEX Budget 2026-27, and sought status from the concerned departments regarding implementation of various schemes and projects.

Chief Planning Officer, Bandipora, delivered a detailed presentation highlighting the progress of schemes and projects under different sectors.

During the meeting, the MLA directed the Programme Officer, ICDS Bandipora, to ensure that the vacant posts of Anganwadi Workers and Helpers are advertised and filled up at the earliest. He also directed that all essential facilities be ensured at Anganwadi Centres and that benefits under various welfare schemes reach the deserving beneficiaries effectively.

Reviewing the Health Department, the MLA directed that a special audit of District Hospital Bandipora and Primary Health Centres (PHCs) be conducted, including the National Health Mission (NHM) manpower engaged and the utilisation of funds under different components in District Hospital Bandipora.

The MLA urged the Assistant Commissioner Revenue Bandipora to ensure prompt public service delivery, particularly the issuance of Other Backward Class (OBC) certificates to eligible applicants within the stipulated timeframe.

The MLA also urged the Power Development Department to take necessary measures to reduce power curtailments and improve electricity supply for the convenience of the general public.

He directed the District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) Bandipora to obtain approval for the proposals related to the distribution of assistance under individual beneficiary schemes from the MLA.

The MLA directed the Youth Services & Sports Department and the Sports Council to take up the matter of the unsafe building at SK Sports Stadium with the R&B Department. The Executive Engineer, R&B Bandipora, was asked to furnish the necessary report for further process.

The MLA urged all departments to furnish details of pending issues and projects requiring intervention at the level of the Heads of Departments, Administrative Departments, or the Government so that the same could be taken up with the concerned authorities.

The MLA emphasised coordinated efforts among all departments for timely completion of ongoing works, effective implementation of Government schemes and improved public service delivery, ensuring that the benefits of development reach every section of society.
