Kupwara: The Jammu and Kashmir Government Pharmacists Association (JKGPA), Kupwara Unit, on Friday organised a cleanliness drive at the Block Headquarters in Kupwara to promote hygiene and public awareness under the Swachh Bharat initiative.
The drive was attended by Block Medical Officer Kupwara Dr. Mohammad Shafi, District Tuberculosis Officer Dr. Ghulam Hassan Khatana, and other health officials.
The programme was conducted under the leadership of Mushtaq Ahmad Wani, District President of the J&K Government Pharmacists Association, Kupwara.
Pharmacists from various blocks participated in the drive, cleaning the premises and highlighting the importance of sanitation, environmental cleanliness and community participation.
Speaking on the occasion, the officials appreciated the initiative and stressed the role of healthcare professionals in promoting cleanliness and public health. The programme concluded with a pledge to continue similar awareness and community service initiatives in the future.

Morena, Gwalior: Kashmir Horizon (KH) columnist and academician Dr.Shahid Amin, widely recognized for his insightful newspaper commentary, spearheaded a transformative Innovation and Entrepreneurship Outreach Activity at PM SHRI KendriyaVidyalaya, Morena, Madhya Pradesh. Organized as part of the Quarter 4 Activity Calendar by the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) at ITM Gwalior, the initiative aimed to sow the seeds of creative leadership and problem-solving among senior secondary students.
Accompanied by Amit Jain, Convener of IIC ITM, Dr.Shahid Amin was warmly welcomed by the school leadership, who commended ITM Gwalior’s ongoing efforts to bridge high-level academic vision with grassroots student engagement. Addressing students of Classes XI and XII, Dr.Shahid Amin delivered a compelling message on how modern career paths are evolving beyond traditional boundaries.
While honoring conventional professions such as engineering, medicine, civil services, and research for their immense contributions to nation-building, Dr.Shahid Amin urged students to embrace innovation and entrepreneurship as equally powerful vehicles for personal growth and social progress. He emphasized that entrepreneurship is not merely about launching a business, but rather about cultivating a persistent problem-solving mindset, creating value, generating employment, and addressing real-world societal challenges. Drawing upon inspiring real-life case studies of successful innovators, Dr.ShahidAmin demystified the startup landscape, demonstrating how determination, ethics, and continuous learning can transform simple ideas into impactful ventures.
Mr. Amit Jain complemented the session by explaining how emerging technologies are unlocking fresh opportunities across industries. He introduced students to the Ministry of Education’s vast innovation ecosystem, including mentorship programs, ideation challenges, and startup incubation support available through the IIC network.
The session sparked enthusiastic participation from the young audience, who actively engaged with the experts during a dynamic Q&A segment. The outreach program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks from the school administration to Dr.Shahid Amin, Mr. Amit Jain, and the IIC ITM Gwalior team for delivering an impactful session.
