Shopian : Police on Saturday said that it has seized three tractors involved in the unauthorized extraction and transportation of minerals from the Heerpora and Berthipora areas.
In a statement issued here on Saturday Police said that a team from Police Station Heerpora intercepted two tractors found operating without valid royalty documents and a case under FIR No. 72/2026 was registered. Separately, a police team from Police Post Berthipora seized another tractor engaged in illegal extraction, registering FIR No. 80/2026 at Police Station Keller. In its statement Police reiterated its commitment to protect natural resources and assured that the identity of all confidential informants will be strictly safeguarded.
