Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday interacted with officers attending the Higher Command Course-55 of the Army War College, Mhow, stressing that India’s security forces must be prepared to counter the evolving challenges of asymmetric warfare while also holding separate meetings with filmmaker Siddharth Kak and Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma.
Addressing senior Army officers and faculty members at Lok Bhavan, Sinha said the changing geopolitical and geostrategic environment demands a comprehensive counter-terrorism strategy based on a “whole-of-government approach” to dismantle terror networks.
“Our forces must be ready to tackle the challenges of asymmetric warfare. The strategic value of data analysis and algorithmic precision is as important as conventional kinetic operations today,” he said.
The Lieutenant Governor said the transformation witnessed in Jammu and Kashmir over the past six years was the result of sustained efforts to rebuild public trust, strengthen governance and restore dignity to the people.
He also said strong action had been taken against the terror ecosystem and those sustaining militancy in the Union Territory, asserting that infiltration of terrorist sympathisers into government institutions had been dismantled with a policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism.
Later, filmmaker and television presenter Siddharth Kak called on the Lieutenant Governor and discussed issues related to the protection and promotion of Jammu and Kashmir’s heritage sites. Kak also presented his book, A Fire over Mount Everest, to the Lieutenant Governor.
Leader of Opposition in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Sunil Sharma also met the Lieutenant Governor. He was accompanied by Satish Sharma, MLA from Billawar.
Lieutenant General Ajay Chandpuria, Commandant of the Army War College, senior Army officers and faculty members were present during the interaction.
