• Speaks to DGP, directs security forces to eliminate perpetrators
• Massive cordon-and-search operation launched in the area
Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday strongly condemned the terrorist attack on labourers in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, directing security forces to intensify anti-terror operations and ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice.
The attack claimed the life of a labourer from Chhattisgarh, while another sustained injuries and was shifted to hospital for treatment.
Following the incident, the Lieutenant Governor spoke to Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat and other senior security officials to review the situation.
“I strongly condemn this cowardly terrorist attack. I have directed our security forces to step up their operations and eliminate the terrorists,” Sinha said in a post on X.
He said Jammu and Kashmir Police and other security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to track down those responsible for the attack.
The Lieutenant Governor expressed condolences to the bereaved family and wished the injured labourer a speedy recovery.
“My deepest condolences to the bereaved family. I am praying for the speedy recovery of the injured. The J&K administration and the entire nation stand with the affected families,” he said.
Security forces have launched a massive search operation in the area as investigations into the attack are underway.
