IFFJK 2026 Film Submission Deadline Extended Till August 1

Srinagar: The Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) has extended the film submission deadline for the 1st International Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir (IFFJK) 2026 until 11:59 pm on August 1, giving filmmakers a final opportunity to register their entries for the inaugural edition of the festival.
Scheduled to be held from September 7 to 10, the four-day festival seeks to position Jammu and Kashmir as a premier destination for cinema, creativity and cultural exchange while providing an international platform for filmmakers to showcase their work.
Officials said the festival has received an overwhelming response, with more than 900 entries from nearly 50 countries, reflecting growing global interest in Jammu and Kashmir as an emerging hub for filmmaking and cinematic collaboration.
The festival programme will include film screenings, masterclasses, panel discussions, interactive sessions and cultural events, bringing together filmmakers, industry experts, students and cinema enthusiasts to exchange ideas and explore collaborative opportunities.
Besides celebrating cinematic excellence, the festival aims to promote the rich culture, heritage and artistic traditions of Jammu and Kashmir through the medium of cinema.
The DIPR is also planning a series of outreach and engagement activities to ensure broad participation from filmmakers and other stakeholders.
The curtain raiser for the inaugural edition of the festival was held on July 17, formally inviting filmmakers, producers, artists and cinema enthusiasts from across the globe to participate in the landmark event.
