“Mistakes Happen in Youth”: PM Appeals for Empathy Over Legal Action
New Delhi: In a video message shared on his official Instagram handle, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the controversy surrounding derogatory language used against him and his late mother during a recent protest at Jantar Mantar, appealing for forgiveness and empathy over punitive legal measures. Acknowledging the widespread public outrage sparked by the incident, PM Modi stressed that mistakes are a natural part of youth and argued that guiding young citizens onto the right path is far more effective than subjecting them to court proceedings or social harassment. He drew a vivid analogy to illustrate national unity, noting that when a tongue gets caught between teeth and bleeds, one does not break the teeth because both belong to the same body.
