Srinagar : Jammu & Kashmir has received two approved, operational cold chain projects valued at ₹18.15 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana (PMKSY), featuring ₹7.46 crore in government grant-in-aid over the last five years.
In a written response to the Lok Sabha, Food Processing Industries Minister Chirag Paswan shared that the UT also houses 11 completed food processing projects under the CEFPPC scheme, representing a total investment of ₹79.81 crore with ₹31.32 crore in released central assistance. These infrastructure projects aim to lower post-harvest losses and strengthen local supply chains, though the ministry noted that no formal assessment has yet been conducted to quantify their specific impact on regional farmers’ income or direct job generation.
