Commuters Advised to Avoid Trave
Srinagar, July 31: The Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) continues to remain closed for all types of traffic as restoration work is underway between Jakheni in Udhampur district and Gangroo in Banihal area of Ramban district, officials said on Friday.
According to the Traffic Police, the highway remains shut in accordance with the advisory issued on Friday, while road clearance operations are in progress.
Authorities have advised commuters not to undertake travel on the highway until it is declared safe and reopened for vehicular movement. People have also been urged not to pay heed to rumours and instead rely on official updates issued by the Traffic Police through its X handle, Facebook page and Traffic Control Units (TCUs).
