Srinagar : On the 28th day of the ongoing Amarnath Yatra, 5,211 pilgrims paid obeisance at the holy cave shrine in the Himalayas, bringing the total number of completed pilgrimages to 4,46,788.
Reports said that the official turnout for the day included 3,766 men, 1,160 women, 126 children, 22 sadhus, 14 sadhvis, five transgender devotees, two foreign women pilgrims, and 116 security personnel as the overall Yatra approaches the 4.5 lakh mark despite minor weather-related highway delays. Additionally, a fresh batch of 1,795 pilgrims (1,406 men and 389 women) departed the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu at 2:44 am in an 83-vehicle convoy heading for the Baltal base camp under multi-layered security, bringing the total departures from Jammu to 1,34,201.
