DLSA Ganderbal commences Two-Day Training Programme for Legal Aid Functionaries

Ganderbal :In pursuance of the directions of the Jammu & Kashmir Legal Services Authority and under the guidance of Abdul Nasir, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (Principal District & Sessions Judge), Ganderbal, a Two-Day Training-cum-Orientation Programme for Legal Aid Defence Counsels (LADCs), Panel Lawyers, Supporting Staff, Mediators and Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) commenced Wednesday  at the Conference Hall, District Court Complex, Ganderbal.

Addressing the participants, Chairman DLSA Ganderbal, Abdul Nasir emphasized the importance of continuous capacity building of legal aid functionaries to ensure effective delivery of legal services and enhanced access to justice.

Earlier, The welcome address was delivered by Secretary, DLSA, Ganderbal, Sheikh Babar Hussain.

During the first day of the programme, three technical sessions were conducted. The first session on “Role of Mediation, Mediation Process, Negotiation Skills and Conflict Resolution” was delivered by Adv. Sajad HyderSalathi, Trained Mediator.

The second session on “Right to Free Legal Aid under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, Role of Legal Services Institutions and Access to Justice” was delivered by Adv. S. M. Mustehseen, Trained Mediator. The third technical session on “Legal Aid Defence Counsel System, Office Management, Case Management, Digital Reporting on NALSA Portal and Coordination among LADCs, Panel Lawyers, Supporting Staff, Mediators and PLVs” was conducted by Adv. Tanveer, Assistant Legal Aid Defence Counsel. The sessions concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, enabling participants to clarify their queries and exchange practical experiences.

The training programme aims to strengthen the professional skills and institutional capacity of legal aid stakeholders in the areas of legal aid delivery, mediation, mechanisms, implementation of NALSA Schemes, office management, digital case management and legal awareness, thereby enhancing the quality and effectiveness of legal services in the district.
