Ganderbal : The Central University of Kashmir (CUK) has announced the opening of applications for its one-year postgraduate programs for the academic session 2026-27, aligning with the National Education Policy (NEP)-2020. Eligible candidates can directly enter the third semester of a two-year postgraduate program or the ninth semester of an Integrated 5-year program, allowing them to obtain a postgraduate degree through a one-year curriculum that includes two semesters and a dissertation.
The programs available for admission include M.Sc. in Botany, Chemistry, Zoology, Biotechnology, Physics, M.A. in English, Urdu, M.Com. in Commerce, and M.A. in Mass Communication and Journalism. The online registration process commenced on July 27, 2026, and will close at 11:55 PM on August 6, 2026. The Multiple Entry-Multiple Exit system, supported by the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC), promotes academic mobility and credit transfer, enabling students to navigate their educational journeys more flexibly. Candidates eligible for these programs must have completed a four-year B.A., B.Sc., or B.Com. (Honours) with at least 160 credits and meet the required academic standards. Admissions will be merit-based, with preference given to those who have taken the CUET-2026 exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The Vice Chancellor, Prof. A Ravinder Nath, emphasized that these one-year postgraduate programs are part of the university’s commitment to fostering a learner-centric academic environment, equipping graduates with essential knowledge, research skills, and professional competencies for a rapidly evolving knowledge-driven landscape.
