Baramulla : Police on Tuesday said that it has seized three vehicles in collaboration with the Geology & Mining Department for violating Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday Police said thattwo dumper vehicles, registered as JK05L-6005 and JK05K-9655, were seized and challaned for the illegal transportation of extracted minerals, with legal proceedings initiated in accordance with the MMDR Act. Additionally,in a separate operation a tipper bearing registration number JK04AB-0681 was seized for carrying illegally extracted sand, prompting further legal action under the same regulatory framework.
