Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday visited the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Srinagar, to inquire about the health and well-being of the Amarnathji Yatra pilgrims injured in the road accident at Ganiwan in Ganderbal district earlier in the day.
The Lieutenant Governor met the injured pilgrims admitted to the hospital and wished them a speedy recovery. He was briefed by a team of doctors on the treatment being provided to the devotees.
Reviewing the medical care being extended to the injured, the Lieutenant Governor directed the hospital administration to ensure the highest standards of treatment and instructed senior officials to provide all necessary assistance and personal care to the pilgri
He also directed the authorities to make arrangements for the safe return of the pilgrims to their hometowns once they recover.
According to officials, all 39 pilgrims injured in the accident are admitted to SKIMS and are responding well to treatment.
In a post on X, the Lieutenant Governor said, “Today, visited SKIMS, Srinagar, to inquire about the health and well-being of pilgrims of Amarnath Yatra, who were injured in the unfortunate road accident in Ganiwan, Ganderbal. By the grace of Baba Amarnath, all 39 Yatris admitted this morning are currently in stable condition and responding well to treatment. I have directed the hospital administration to provide the highest standard of medical care to the injured.”
He further said that senior officials have been instructed to ensure all necessary assistance and personal care are extended to the pilgrims and that arrangements for their safe return to their hometowns are prioritised after their recovery.
