Drass : The Kashmir JawaYezdi Motorcycles’ Shaurya Vijay Yatra, organized in partnership with the Indian Army, concluded at the Kargil War Memorial in Dras on Kargil Vijay Diwas.

The 1,900-km expedition began at the National War Memorial in New Delhi and brought together military personnel, veterans, Veer Naris, martyrs’ families, and civilian riders to honor the heroes of the 1999 Kargil War.

Flagged off by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, participants rode Jawa and Yezdi motorcycles—including the Jawa 350, Jawa 42, Jawa 42 FJ, Yezdi Adventure, and Yezdi Scrambler—through Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh. Along the high-altitude route, riders carried sacred soil from New Delhi to Dras and paid respects at military landmarks including Chandimandir, Rezang La, and the Leh War Memorial.

Conceptualized by JawaYezdi in 2021, the annual initiative has grown into a unique civil-military movement aimed at bringing stories of military valor into the public consciousness. Anupam Thareja, Co-founder, Classic Legends, said “The Shaurya Vijay Yatra is our way of ensuring that the stories of India’s bravehearts continue to inspire future generations. From the National War Memorial to Dras, every kilometre of this journey was dedicated to honouring those who gave everything for the nation. We are proud to undertake this tribute alongside the Indian Army and the wider riding community. By bringing together serving and retired defence personnel, Veer Naris and civilian riders, we hope to ensure that the values of courage, service and national pride continue to resonate across generations.” The journey reaffirmed its core purpose: ensuring the supreme sacrifices of India’s fallen heroes remain etched in the nation’s collective memory.
