Srinagar, July 27: Continuing its intensified campaign against drug trafficking under the Nasha Mukti Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Srinagar Police on Monday attached immovable properties worth approximately ₹5.60 crore under Section 68F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, in a major action aimed at dismantling the financial network of narcotics traffickers.

According to police, seven immovable properties were attached by Police Station Chanapora in separate NDPS cases. The properties belong to Mohd Yaseen Rather of Chanapora (FIR No. 42/2023) with assets worth around ₹65 lakh; Suhail Rashid Haroon of Gousia Colony, Lal Nagar (FIR No. 41/2025) with assets worth ₹60 lakh; Mohd Asif Rather of Bagh-i-Mehtab (FIR No. 35/2026) with assets worth ₹75 lakh; Arsalan Syed Beigh of Azad Basti, Natipora (FIR No. 28/2026) with assets worth ₹35 lakh; Hilal Ahmad Parray of Budshah Nagar, Natipora (FIR No. 23/2026) with assets worth ₹1 crore; Danish Reyaz Shah of Sanat Nagar (FIR No. 21/2025) with assets worth ₹75 lakh; and Saqib Naseer Beigh of Baramulla, presently residing at Natipora (FIR No. 45/2025), with assets worth ₹70 lakh.

In a separate action, Police Station Saddar attached a residential house worth approximately ₹80 lakh belonging to Shaheem Farooq Bhat of SD Colony, Natipora. The property was attached in connection with FIR No. 08/2026 registered under Sections 8/21 and 29 of the NDPS Act.

Police said the attached properties were identified as illegally acquired assets generated through proceeds of drug trafficking. The attachment proceedings have been carried out under the provisions of the NDPS Act and are subject to confirmation by the competent authority wherever applicable.

Srinagar Police said the action reflects its commitment to dismantling the financial infrastructure of narcotics networks by targeting assets acquired through the illegal drug trade. Officials said depriving drug traffickers of their illicit wealth is a key strategy to disrupt the economic networks sustaining the narcotics trade and to send a strong message that crime will not pay.

Reiterating its commitment to a drug-free society, Jammu and Kashmir Police appealed to the public to continue sharing information related to drug trafficking and other criminal activities, assuring that all credible inputs would be treated with strict confidentiality.
