LG Sinha Meets BJP Leaders, MLA, ISKCON Director and Civil Society Delegations

Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday held a series of meetings with political leaders, religious representatives and civil society delegations at Raj Bhawan, where a range of developmental, cultural and public welfare issues were discussed.
Senior BJP leader and Prabhari SC Morcha Chandigarh, Surinder Bhagat, called on the Lieutenant Governor and briefed him about the upcoming ‘Balidan Diwas’ commemorative event to be organised by the Shaheed Bhagat Amar Nath and Jagan Nath Charitable Trust. He was accompanied by Sanjeev Manmotra, Convener, North Zone, Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch.
A delegation led by BJP District President Kulgam, Farooq Ahmed Rather, also met the Lieutenant Governor and raised several public issues concerning Kulgam district, including the upgradation and strengthening of Ashmuji Hospital, installation of solar street lights in various areas and development of the district bus stand.
Meanwhile, Sriram Charana Aravinda Dasa, Director Projects of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), also called on the Lieutenant Governor.
In another meeting, Uri MLA Dr Sajjad Shafi discussed various issues related to the welfare of the Scheduled Tribe community and projected several developmental concerns pertaining to his constituency.
The Lieutenant Governor also met Gulzar Ahmad Bhat, Chairman of the J&K Artists Association, who briefed him about the forthcoming fifth edition of the cultural festival “New Kashmir, New Hope – Jashn-e-Jammu Kashmir.”
Separately, Ramesh Hangloo, Convener of the J&K Dashar Kumbh Committee, accompanied by Bharat Raina, President, and other members of the committee, discussed arrangements and issues related to the organisation of the Dashar Kumbh at Shadipora.
A delegation of the Bar Association Magam, led by its President Advocate Sheikh Ishfaq Rasool, also met the Lieutenant Governor and discussed issues concerning the legal fraternity and the region.
