Srinagar, July 25: Continuing its relentless crackdown against drug trafficking under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, police in Srinagar have attached two immovable properties worth approximately ₹1.35 crores belonging to drug peddlers under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
In the first case, Police attached a double-storeyed residential house situated at Nadir Gund, Pir Bagh, Hyderpora, Srinagar, worth approximately ₹70 lakhs, belonging to Aqib Farooq son of Farooq Ahmad, resident of Nadir Gund, Pir Bagh, Hyderpora. The attachment has been made in connection with FIR No. 16/2025 registered under Section 8/21 of the NDPS Act.
In the second case, Police Station Rainawari attached a single-storeyed residential house constructed on five marlas of land, situated at Inderhama Gassu, Batapora, Hazratbal, Srinagar, worth approximately ₹65 lakhs, belonging to Azan Parvaiz Giltsaaz, son of Parvaiz Ahmad Giltsaaz, originally a resident of Kani Mohalla, Rainawari, and presently residing at Inderhama Gassu, Batapora, Hazratbal, Srinagar. The attachment has been carried out in connection with FIR No. 09/2023 registered under Sections 8/21/29 of the NDPS Act.
During the course of investigation, both properties were found to have been illegally acquired from the proceeds of narcotics trafficking and drug peddling. Consequently, the properties have been attached under the relevant provisions of the NDPS Act, including Section 68-F, subject to confirmation by the Competent Authority.
These attachments form part of J&K Police’s sustained strategy to dismantle the financial infrastructure of drug trafficking networks by identifying and confiscating assets generated through the proceeds of crime. By targeting illegally acquired properties, J&K Police aims to deprive drug peddlers of the economic benefits of their criminal activities and send a strong message that narcotics-related offences will invite stringent legal and financial consequences.
Police remains firmly committed to the vision of a drug-free Jammu & Kashmir and will continue to take decisive action against individuals involved in the narcotics trade.
