Srinagar: To ensure passenger convenience and reduce extra rush, the Jammu Division of Northern Railway has decided to operate a special reserved train between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and New Delhi.
Public Relations Inspector, Jammu Division, Raghvender Singh said on Friday that Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-New Delhi (Train No. 04678) will run on July 25.
The train will depart from Katra at 09:40 hours and will reach New Delhi at 21:40 hours.
In the return direction, the train will depart from New Delhi at 23:45 hours and will reach Katra at 12:00 hours the next day.
The train will halt at major stations including Shahid Captain Tushar Mahajan, Jammu Tawi, Shahid Captain Sunil Kumar Chaudhary Kathua, Pathankot Cantt, Jalandhar Cantt, Ludhiana Jn., Ambala Cantt, and Panipat.
The operation of this special train will provide relief to pilgrims and general passengers from the inconvenience caused due to overcrowding. It will also provide direct and quick connectivity between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and New Delhi. Additionally, passengers from intermediate stations like Jammu, Pathankot, Ludhiana, and Ambala will also benefit from improved travel facilities, he said.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu, Uchit Singhal said, “Passenger convenience and comfort is our topmost priority. Considering the festive season and additional rush, we have decided to run this special train so that passengers do not face any difficulty in booking and are able to reach their destination on time. We request passengers to avail this special train and check ticket availability before undertaking their journey.”
Passengers can book tickets for this special train through the IRCTC website and railway reservation counters, he added.
