Budgam, 24 July 2026: Leader of Opposition in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Sunil Sharma, visited the residence of martyred Head Constable Ashiq Hussain Qureshi in Budgam to pay his heartfelt tributes and offer condolences to the bereaved family.
Sharma expressed deep sympathy with the family and paid homage to the brave martyr, stating that the supreme sacrifice of Head Constable Ashiq Hussain Qureshi in the line of duty will always be remembered with honour and respect. He offered prayers for the departed soul and wished the family strength, courage, and fortitude to endure this irreparable loss.
During the visit, Sharma said that the entire nation stands firmly with the family of the martyr and assured them of continued support and solidarity during this difficult period.
Sunil Sharma also facilitated a telephonic conversation between Hon’ble Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah and the martyr’s son through his mobile phone. Shri Amit Shah conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and assured them of the Union Government’s full support and assistance in this hour of grief.
Appreciating the personal outreach and concern shown by Shri Amit Shah towards the bereaved family, Sunil Sharma said that such gestures reflect the Union Government’s commitment to standing with the families of brave personnel who make the ultimate sacrifice in the service of the nation.
Reiterating his commitment, Shri Sharma said that the sacrifices of martyrs will always be honoured and that their families will continue to receive the respect, support, and care they rightfully deserve.
