New Delhi, Jul 21 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi has vowed to ensure the harshest penalties for those involved in the recent NEET examination paper leak, underscoring the incident as a matter of national concern.
Speaking at the National Democratic Alliance’s ‘Mangal Milan’ gathering on Tuesday, Modi stressed that safeguarding the integrity of competitive exams is a collective responsibility that requires urgent and unified action.
Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju, relaying the Prime Minister’s message, revealed that swift government measures had been taken following the leak, resulting in arrests and a prompt re-examination to protect students’ futures from being jeopardized. “The Prime Minister has insisted on the strictest punishment for those responsible and emphasized that preventing such breaches is vital for the nation,” Rijiju said.
Modi also encouraged NDA lawmakers to connect with young voters, reassuring them of the government’s commitment to uphold their interests despite political challenges.
He cautioned against opposition tactics aimed at creating confusion among students and urged his party members to stand firm against such misinformation. The Prime Minister further appealed for harmony within the NDA to support parliamentary proceedings and called on opposition parties to engage constructively, reminding all parliamentarians of their shared duty toward the country’s progress and the welfare of its youth.
This firm stance from the government comes amid recent tensions, where student protests demanding accountability in the examination system led to police action near the Parliament. The protests, led by the satirical Cockroach Janta Party—formed after a controversial remark by the Supreme Court Chief Justice—have called for Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation, citing irregularities in exams, including the NEET paper leak.
Prime Minister Modi’s call for a foolproof examination framework reflects the administration’s resolve to prevent future disruptions and restore faith in the system.
