Bandipora| July, 20:MohammadOwaisGurkoo on Monday assumed charge as the District Information Officer (DIO), Bandipora, following the transfer of Aadil Manzoor Wani from the district.

Soon after assuming charge, Gurkoo held an introductory meeting with the officers and officials of the District Information Centre (DIC), Bandipora.

During the interaction, he reviewed the functioning of the office and interacted with the staff members. He stressed the need for dedication, professionalism and coordinated teamwork to ensure effective dissemination of information relating to Government policies, developmental initiatives and flagship programmes.

Gurkoo emphasized the importance of timely, accurate and people-centric dissemination of information through print, electronic and digital media, while highlighting the Department’s role in strengthening public outreach and promoting greater public awareness about Government initiatives.

The officials of the District Information Centre welcomed the new District Information Officer and assured him of their wholehearted cooperation in the efficient discharge of the Department’s responsibilities.

The occasion also marked a warm farewell to the outgoing District Information Officer, Bandipora, Aadil Manzoor Wani, in recognition of his dedicated service and valuable contribution to the Information Department in the district. Officials extended their heartfelt best wishes to Wani for success in his future assignments.
