LG reviews rain, flash flood situation in J&K, orders swift relief & restoration

Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday reviewed the situation arising out of heavy rains, flash floods and landslides in several districts of Jammu and Kashmir and directed officials to ensure prompt relief measures and restoration of essential infrastructure in the affected areas.
The Lieutenant Governor spoke with senior officials to assess the impact of the inclement weather and instructed them to expedite relief operations, restore damaged infrastructure and provide all necessary assistance to affected residents.
Expressing grief over the loss of two lives in Doda, Sinha conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families.
In a post on X, the Lieutenant Governor said emergency response teams, including the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), J&K Police and the Army, have been deployed and remain on high alert in vulnerable areas.
He said key roads in Poonch, Rajouri, Reasi and Udhampur have been reopened, while restoration of water supply in several affected areas is underway.
The Lieutenant Governor also directed field teams to carry out an immediate assessment of damage caused to residential houses and public infrastructure to facilitate timely relief and rehabilitation measures.
