Srinagar: Welcome to the valley of scenic beauty, freezing winters, and boiling student rage! Coaching giants like Allen and Physics Wallah have mastered a magnificent local magic trick: charge astronomical tuition fees for “elite outstation faculty,” then execute a seamless vanishing act.
At admission, parents willingly liquidate savings, expecting IIT-minted wizards from Kota to shower their children with competitive wisdom. Fast forward two weeks, and poof! Eighty percent of the classes are being taught by local teachers who were probably the students’ own high school tutors last year. It’s the classic “Bait with Kota, Switch with Kulgam” maneuver.
Meanwhile, the Directorate of School Education remains in deep, poetic hibernation—neither regulating exorbitant fee structures nor auditing teaching credentials. Why bother with oversight when you can just let the invisible hand of fleecing guide the market? Kashmiri NEET and JEE aspirants are left paying five-star prices for local dhabas, proving that in the business of entrance exams, the real competitive test is surviving the coaching center’s marketing pitch.
