Baramulla : Police on Saturday said that a wild cannabis (Bhung) destruction drive has been launched by it in the Mirgund area of Baramulla district.
In a statement issued here on Saturday police said that a team from Police Post Mirgund identified and destroyed wild cannabis growing over approximately seven marlas of state land surrounding the NHW Dever Crossing. The standing crop was uprooted and destroyed on the spot following prescribed legal and environmental procedures to prevent its misuse by anti-social elements.
In its Statement Police appealed people to cooperate by reporting any illegal cultivation of narcotic plants.
