DLSA Srinagar organizes Special Lok Adalat for cases under Negotiable Instruments ACT 1881

Srinagar : In compliance to the directions of NALSA & JK Legal Services Authority, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar, organized a Special Lok Adalat for Negotiable Instruments ACT 1881 and Bank Recovery Cases.

The Special LokAdalat, aimed at amicably resolving Cases,  was held under the guidance of Haq Nawaz Zargar, Chairman District Legal Services Authority (Principal District & Sessions Judge) Srinagar, and overall supervision of Secretary DLSA Srinagar.

To facilitate the amicable settlement of cases, two benches were constituted for the Special Lok Adalat.

The 1st bench was presided over by Kusoom Pandit, Additional District Judge Bank Cases and Anjum Ara, 1st Additional District & Sessions Judge, Srinagar as Member, and the 2nd bench was presided over by MassaratJabeen, PT&E Magistrate, Srinagar, and  Zirgham Hamid,1st Additional Munsiff, Srinagar as member.

A total number of 214 Cases were taken up by these benches for amicable settlement, out of which 49 Cases were settled. An amount of Rs 45, 91,288  was awarded as settlement amount in all these cases.
