Healing Children Through Drug Abuse Counseling

Focus On Healteir Body And Mind Of Children Is Needed 

Medication for the treatment of some diseases is necessary ut need to be taken only after consulting some medical supervisor/order and need to be taken as per his advise. But sometimes they are in illegal way by some people. This is called its abuse. Thus Drug abuse (often referred to as substance abuse) is the use of illegal drugs or the intentional misuse of prescription or over-the-counter medications. It involves consuming substances in excessive amounts or for purposes other than those intended, resulting in physical, mental, or social harm. Drug abuse or substance abuse refers to the use of certain chemicals for the purpose of creating pleasurable effects on the brain. There are over 190 million drug users around the world and the problem has been increasing at alarming rates, especially youngsters. Children are at risk of drug misuse because of the way their brains develop. And in turn, drugs can affect brain development. Typical changes in social interactions, family life and independence during the teen years add to these risks. As a result, teenagers face a particular risk of drug misuse.
Signs Of Drug Abuse Among The Children: There are different signs of drug abuse. In general, people who use drugs or alcohol typically display health issues; like, a neglected appearance, changes in behaviour and irregular sleeping patterns. They also make repeated requests for money. It’s important for parents to understand the effect of drugs, including alcohol, on the teenage body and the risks of drug use. This information can help you work with your child to make healthy choices and prevent drug and alcohol misuse.
How To Council Our Children
Children of lower ages:
1. Explain that bodies need good food and water to grow.
2. It helps to develop the immunity of the body
3. Teach them that only trusted adults can give them medicine.
4. Establish a clear rule never to eat or drink unknown substances.
5. Use a traffic light analogy (Green for healthy food.

“A drug-free younger generation creates a healthier, more developed nation by preventing harmful diseases. Ultimately, public health forms the bedrock of prosperity, driving economic stability through a productive workforce while reducing healthcare burdens and improving the overall quality of life.”

School Going Children:
1. Role-play scenarios where they might be offered something.
2. Talk about how drugs destroy brain development and hobbies.
3. Include alcohol, tobacco, and household inhalants in the conversation.
4. Help them understand that movies often make substance use look fake.
5. Always try to keep them away take medication for the illness which can heal by immunity of the body.
For youngsters:
1. Discuss healthy ways to cope with stress and anxiety.
2. Explain the legal, financial, and academic risks of drug use.
3. Create a “no-questions-asked” safe ride home policy.
4. Praise them for standing up for their own values.
5. Try to keep them away from the stores which sell tobacco containing items.
Our future generation depends on our children. If our children are drug free our generation can be heather one and they can take such steps that can make our nation developed and healthier. It can keep us away from the catchment of harmful diseases. A healthier nation is the bedrock of a prosperous nation. It drives economic stability through a highly productive workforce, minimizes financial burdens on healthcare systems, and elevates the overall quality of life. Investing in public health strengthens human capital and ensures that citizens can actively participate in community and civic development.
