Vehicles Seized for Illegal Mining In Pattan: Police

Baramulla : Police on Thursday said that it has seized two heavy commercial vehicles for illegally transporting extracted mining materials in Pattan area of Baramulla district.

In a statement issued here, police said that during a routine checking operation in Pattan, a dumper and a tipper were intercepted while transporting mining material in direct violation of the Mines and Minerals Development and Regulation (MMDR) Act. “The vehicles have been detained at the local police station,” the statement noted.

The case has been handed over to the Department of Geology and Mining for further legal proceedings.
