Srinagar : Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather on Thursday reviewed flood protection works being executed at Apazyari Nallah under NABARD and restoration works under SASCI-II.
Officials informed the Speaker that anti-erosion and flood protection works costing over ₹7.31 crore and restoration works worth over ₹1.54 crore are under execution to safeguard vulnerable stretches and bridge foundations.
Rather directed engineers to regularly inspect vulnerable areas, ensure quality execution and complete the works within the stipulated timeframe. He said protecting bridges from erosion and flood damage should remain a top priority.
The projects are expected to benefit around 40,000 residents of nearly 15 villages by improving flood resilience and protecting vital public infrastructure.
