Srinagar : Secretary Transport AvnyLavasa on Thursday reviewed preparations for the proposed River Cruise Transport project on the River Jhelum, being developed by the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Government.
Lavasa inspected the proposed cruise route from Zero Bridge to Pantha Chowk and assessed the readiness of terminals, passenger facilities, navigation infrastructure and safety arrangements.
She emphasised close coordination among the IWAI, Transport Department and other agencies to ensure timely completion of the project while maintaining high standards of safety and operational efficiency.
The river cruise project is expected to provide an eco-friendly mode of transport, enhance tourism on the River Jhelum and offer a new travel experience for residents and visitors.
