Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday reviewed the situation after a Amarnath Yatra pilgrim bus from Rajasthan caught fire at Karol in Ramban district due to a tyre burst while the pilgrims were returning after paying obeisance at the holy cave shrine.
The Lieutenant Governor spoke to Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan, and other senior officials, directing them to extend immediate assistance to the affected pilgrims and ensure their safety.
In a post on X, the Lieutenant Governor said that all pilgrims were safe by the grace of Lord Shiva and instructed the district administration to make necessary arrangements for their safe onward journey back to Rajasthan.
“I have reviewed the situation with senior officials and Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, after a Amarnath Yatra pilgrim bus from Rajasthan returning after Darshan caught fire at Karol due to a tyre burst. By Lord Shiva’s grace, all pilgrims are safe. I have directed the Ramban district administration to provide immediate assistance to the Yatris and arrange for their safe travel back to Rajasthan,” he posted.
Meanwhile, the Lieutenant Governor also met a delegation of the Wadies Hindi Shiksha Samiti, led by its President Nasreen Ali, at Raj Bhavan.
During the meeting, the delegation projected various issues related to the promotion of the Hindi language in Jammu and Kashmir. The Lieutenant Governor heard the concerns and interacted with the members of the delegation.
