Srinagar: Amid the no-confidence motion against him, Chief Executive Councillor of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Kargil, Dr. Jaffar Ali Akhoon, on Thursday nominated two executive councillors-one from the National Conference group supporting him and the other an independent.
Reports said that CEC nominated Altaf Hussain (National Conference) and Syed Ali (Independent) as executive councillors.
The move comes at a time when 16 councillors have brought a no-confidence resolution after the CEC refused to step down upon completion of his two-and-a-half-year tenure. As part of the agreement, the chair of the CEC was to rotate between the two allies, with the NC holding charge for the first two-and-a-half years, followed by the Congress for the same tenure
