Ganderbal, July 15: As part of the comprehensive security arrangements for the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY-2026), Ganderbal Police conducted joint mock drills at Pandith Colony, Manigam and Thajwas, Sonamarg to enhance operational preparedness and ensure a swift, coordinated response to any contingency.

At Pandith Colony, Manigam, the mock drill was conducted by the Special Operations Group (SOG) Ganderbal in close coordination with the Indian Army and other Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). Simultaneously, another mock drill was conducted at Thajwas, Sonamarg by Police Station Sonamarg, Tourist Police, and other CAPFs, reinforcing the multi-agency security framework along the Yatra route and adjoining areas.

The exercises were aimed at assessing the preparedness, operational coordination, and rapid response capabilities of all participating agencies in handling various emergency and contingency scenarios. The drills focused on strengthening inter-agency coordination, area domination, tactical intervention, evacuation procedures, crowd management, and effective neutralization of potential security threats.

These coordinated mock drills reaffirm the unwavering commitment of Ganderbal Police, in close synergy with the Indian Army, Tourist Police, and CAPFs, to maintaining a robust security grid and ensuring a safe, secure, and peaceful environment for all Shri Amarnath Ji Yatris.
