Baramulla : Police on Tuesday said that it has disrupted a major illegal sand extraction operation in the Chakloo area, seizing a tractor alongside specialized extraction equipment from the riverbed.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday Police said that in an enforcement operation against illegal sand extraction a tractor, a sand suction motor, a water pump, and a boat motor have been seized Legal proceedings have been initiated against three local residents—Mudasir Ahmad Sheikh, Danish Ahmad Sofi, and Shakir Ahmad Sofi—for exploiting local natural resources.
