DC Samba reviews District Capex Budget 2026-27, directs timely tendering, execution of works

Samba : Deputy Commissioner Samba Ayushi Sudan on Monday chaired a review meeting to assess progress of developmental works under the District Capex Budget 2026-27 including the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) Scheme of MLAs and status of works sanctioned during 2025-26.

4The meeting focussed on preparation of estimates, tendering, execution of works and utilisation of funds under the District Plan 2026-27. The Deputy Commissioner directed departments concerned, including Heads of Departments, PRIs, BDCs, DDCs, Assistant Block Development Officers (ABDOs), Assistant Programme Development Officers (APDOs) and Panchayat Secretaries, to initiate tendering immediately for works with Administrative Approval and put all such works to tender by the end of the week; she also directed executing agencies to submit pending estimates under all heads by the end of the week to facilitate Administrative Approval and timely execution.

Noting that a significant number of works pertain to the Rural Development Department, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Samba and the Executive Engineer, Rural Engineering Wing (REW), to coordinate closely for expeditious tendering and early commencement of works.

 

The ACD was instructed to furnish a weekly status report on the District Capex Plan 2026-27, including CDF works, every Monday to the Chief Planning Officer (CPO) Samba, for appraisal by the District Development Commissioner.

The Deputy Commissioner called for 100 per cent utilisation of funds, particularly for ongoing works under the Constituency Development Fund of MLAs, and directed executing agencies to adhere to timelines while maintaining quality standards.

Among those present were Additional District Development Commissioner Champa Devi Thakur, Chief Planning Officer Kasturi Lal, Assistant Commissioner Development, Executive Engineers of various departments, Block Development Officers and other district and sectoral officers concerned.
